Dustdevils erupt for five goals to coast past Oklahoma Christian

EDMOND, Okla. – Texas A&M International University men's soccer (9-4-1, 5-2-0 LSC) claimed a convincing 5-0 Lone Star Conference road victory over the Oklahoma Christian Eagles (4-8-0, 1-5-0 LSC) from Dustdevil Soccer Field on Saturday evening. With the victory, TAMIU improves to 7-3-0 against the Eagles dating back to the 2012 campaign.
 
The Dustdevils piled on a season-best five goals ignited by Nadav Datner's goal in the 20th minute that got past Eagle goalkeeper Anthony Trabichet to give them a 1-0 edge.
 
In the 36th minute, midfielder David Martinez extended TAMIU's lead to a pair of goals as he finished a feed from Johan Portales.    

Ian Arendse tried put the Eagles on the board, however Dustdevil goalkeeper Josh Jones stopped the attempt with 38 seconds remaining in the opening half that would ultimately send the 2-0 match into the break. 

In the second half, the Datner netted his second goal of the match at 69:45 to give the Dustdevils a comfortable three-goal cushion (3-0). The goal marked Datner's second multi-goal game of the season. 

Only 1:42 after Datner's second goal, TAMIU midfielder Magnus Poulsen scored his first-career goal to extend their lead to four (4-0). 

Ruben Nielsen scored the final goal of the match on a feed from Poulsen to settle the 5-0 final.

Jones protected the net for TAMIU in the opening 78:12 of play and registered three saves before Heuser closed out the match. Trabichet made seven stops in defeat for the Eagles. 

TAMIU recorded a season-high 29 shots and outshot OC (29-10). The Dustdevils held the advantage in shots on goal (12-4) while OC led the way in corner kicks (6-5).

The Dustdevils will return home to host Lubbock Christian (8-4-1, 4-1-1 LSC) for a Lone Star Conference showdown on Thursday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m.
