2019 All-Lone Star Conference Third-Team

2019:
Martinez was named to the All-Lone Star Conference third-team. He played in 19 games and made 18 starts and recorded two goals on the season including the game-winner in a 3-1 victory over UT Permian Basin (Sept. 21).

2018:
Martinez played in 14 games and made 13 starts and compiled 2 goals, 3 assists, in 1,062 minutes for the Dustdevils.

2017:
Martinez had another impressive season starting in all 18 matches logging 1,389 minutes for the Dustdevils. Recorded two assists in wins over Lubbock Christian and Rogers State while also registering eight shots with two of those on-target. Played a career-high 106 minutes against Dallas Baptist and UT Permian Basin. Palyed arguably his best game of the season in the Heartland Conference Semifinals against #3 Midwestern State holding conference player of the year Pierre Bocquet to just two shots. 

2016:
Made an immediate impact as a freshman making 13 appearances including 10 starts for the Dustdevils in 2016. He registered 715 minutes including a career-high 88 in a 3-0 victory over St. Mary’s on Oct. 8. He recorded three shots throughout the season.

Personal:
David Martinez is the son of Benita and Jesus Martinez. He has by his (3) siblings: Anthony (30), Jesus (29), and Gracie (25). He chose to attend TAMIU because he believed it was the best fit for him and his future. His most inspirational figure is his father. His favorite athlete is Ricardo Kaka or "Kaka" as he's famously known, who played for the Brazilian National Soccer Team. During his spare time, he listens to music as he enjoys listening to new albums.
