Dustdevils register season-high six goals in victory over Lubbock Christian

LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International University men's soccer (10-4-1, 6-2-0 LSC) scored four second-half goals en route to coasting to a 6-1 Lone Star Conference home victory over the Lubbock Christian Chaparrals (8-5-1, 4-2-1 LSC) on Thursday evening. With the win, TAMIU improves to 4-3-0 against the Chaps dating back to the 2013 season.

LCU forward Tariq Bakkali finished a feed from Hector Rodriguez-Cabo that beat Dustdevil goalkeeper Josh Jones at the 16:44 mark to break the scoring ice.

The Dustdevils showed their resiliency as they responded 38 seconds later when Elias Perales registered a goal on a pass from Ruben Nielsen to knot the game at one apiece.

In the 35th minute, Charlie Michel scored his second goal of the season on Nielsen's second assist of the match to give TAMIU a 2-1 edge.

Johan Portales took the final shot of the half but sailed to the right of the goal to send a 2-1 match into intermission.
