LAREDO, Texas -Â Texas A&M International baseball (6-14) fell in the series finale doubleheader against St. Mary's (14-8) on Saturday.
GAME 1 - St. Mary's 8 TAMIU 1
The Rattlers wasted no time cracking the seal in the first game, as they took a 2-0 lead early in the first inning on a two RBI fielder's choice. They would tack on an insurance run in the second on a wild pitch to take a 3-0 lead.
St. Mary's would score three more in the fourth inning off a RBI line out to short and a two RBI fielder's choice. They got two more in the fifth with a RBI single and another RBI fielder's choice to take a commanding 8-0 lead.Â
After holding the Dustdevil offense in check for most of the game, TAMIU was finally able to get across one run in the bottom of the seventh as Adrian Castillo doubled home Nate Campos. However, the Rattlers still took a 8-1 victory.
Jacob Koehler (1-0, 7.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 4 SO) went the distance to earn his first win of the season. Justin Rumley (0-2, 3.1 IP, 3 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 6 BB, 1 SO) took the loss.

The Rattlers bats came alive in the fourth, scoring four runs. An RBI single scored the first run with a ground out to short scoring another. A two RBI single would give St. Mary's a 4-3 lead.
In the bottom of the fifth, a Matthew Trevino RBI single would score Handel to tie the game at 4-4.
Unfortunately, the tie would be short lived as the Rattlers would answer with three runs in the sixth. Two RBI singles and a RBI fielder's choice would put them up 7-4.
The Dustdevils would get one run back in the bottom half as Holsey doubled to bring home Daniel Espinoza, but 7-5 is as close they would get.Â
