LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International University men's soccer (4-0-1) will host its first matchup against Lone Star Conference opponent, St. Mary's University (3-1-1), on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. The Dustdevils look to improve on their stellar 9-2-1 home record against the Rattlers dating back to 2007.
TAMIU will play in Laredo for the first time in 2019 after going unbeaten in their first five matches. Most recently, the Dustdevils knocked off UT Permian Basin and secured a 3-1 victory in Odessa, Texas last Saturday. The win featured three different goal scorers for TAMIU including
Ruben Nielsen, in the 32nd minute,
David Martinez, in the 55th minute, and
Elias Perales, in the 57th minute.
Last Saturday, St. Mary's made history as they knocked off No. 8 ranked Midwestern State University (4-1-0) for the first time in school history by a score of 2-0. The Rattler attack was led by Cain Smith and Nenad Markovic who each tallied a goal in the win while Jacob Sayle earned the shutout.
