LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International University men's soccer head coach Claudio Arias announced the signings of Omar Merla and Natxo Faus on Wednesday. Merla is a native of Laredo, Texas and Faus resides from Alicante, Spain.

Merla currently attends Lyndon B. Johnson High School and currently has a pair of goals and an assist as a member of the Wolves. In 2019, Merla compiled 11 goals and three assists while garnering Co-Forward of the Year honors in district 29-6A. Following the 2018 campaign, Merla was named to the All-District 29-6A second team.

Faus brings a plethora of experience as he competed for the Alcoyano C.D. Soccer Club in 2018-2019 and was awarded Player of the Month. The goalkeeper was also a league champion when he played for Valencia C.F. Soccer Club (2016-2017). Faus also played for Alcoyano C.D. Soccer Club (2010-2016).
