LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International volleyball snapped its winless skid in dominating fashion, sweeping Texas Woman's, 3-0.

The Dustdevils (2-12, 2-5 LSC) opened the match with a hard-fought first set victory, defeating the Pioneers (7-11, 3-5 LSC) 25-20 in the set.

TAMIU went on to roll Texas Woman's in sets two and three, leading to the sweep and its second Lone Star Conference victory on the year.

In set two, the Dustdevils cruised to a 25-13 victory, doing so by opening the set with a 21-9 lead.

Set three saw TAMIU again blow past the Pioneers yet again. The Dustdevils opened the set with an early 9-2 lead and never allowed Texas Woman's to come within four, winning the match in 25-14 fashion in the deciding set.

Junior
Hannah Thompson led the TAMIU charge with 13 kills and a hitting percentage of .522. Senior
Mackenzie Catalina followed behind with 10 kills, while fellow senior
Lorena Martin Perez had eight kills.

Four Dustdevils had double-digit digs, including senior
Deserey Gomez who led the way with 13. Perez followed behind with 12, while Catalina and senior
Maison Kosse each had 10. Kosse aldo led the team in assists with 20.

The Dustdevils will look to take the momentum from the victory on the road next weekend, starting with a match against Texas A&M-Commerce on Friday, Oct. 15. The match from Commerce, Texas is scheduled for 6 p.m.
