LAWTON, Okla. – Texas A&M International volleyball opened the final weekend of the regular season, cruising to a 3-0 win over Cameron.
The Dustdevils (22-6, 13-2 LSC) mad quick work in the opening set, winning 25-15.
The score was even at 10-10 and the remainder of the set was a 15-5 TAMIU run to close the door.
In set two, the Dustdevils had to fight until the end in a 25-23 win.
It was back and forth the entire set, as Cameron (5-25, 0-15 LSC) held the largest lead at 8-5 early on.
Set three was more wide margined, with TAMIU sealing the victory 25-20, as the Dustdevils never allowed the set to come closer the three after holding a 12-7 lead.
Senior Megan Menchaca led the charge with 12 kills offensively, doing so hitting .409 on the night.
Graduate student Mackenzie Catalina followed with the lone double-double, with 11 kills and 12 digs.
Middle blockers Jasmin Garcia and Hannah Thompson both hit over .500, with Garcia having five kills on .556 hitting and Thompson with four, hitting .500.
Setter Emma Lade ended the night with 32 assists, putting her at 1,148 to sit third place all-time in a single season. Lade needs four assists to take over second place.
TAMIU closes the 2022 regular season in Canyon, Texas as it faces #11 West Texas A&M. Opening serve is slated for 2 p.m.
