LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International University baseball and softball have seen changes to their opening weekend schedule due to the cold weather front coming through.
Baseball, originally scheduled to open the season Friday, Feb. 4-Sunday, Feb. 6 against UT Permian Basin, will now begin on Saturday, Feb. 5-Monday, Feb. 7. Saturday's game will still be a 2 p.m. first pitch, while Saturday's doubleheader will now take place at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. Monday's final game of the series will begin at 12 p.m.
Softball was set to begin the Arkansas Tech Invitational in Conroe, Texas and play today through Saturday, but will now play Friday through Sunday.
The Dustdevils will still open the tournament against #2 Augustana (S.D.) tomorrow at 2 p.m. and then meet Harding at 4 p.m. On Saturday, TAMIU squares off against #20 Central Oklahoma at 3 p.m. and closes day two against Southeastern Oklahoma State at 7 p.m. The Dustdevils then round out the tournament on Sunday, meeting Rogers State who is receving votes in the preseason top 25 at 10 a.m. and closes the tournament against #16 Southern Arkansas at 2 p.m.
