RICHARDSON, Texas – Texas A&M International men's soccer earned a sixth-place spot in the 2022 Lone Star Conference Preseason Poll, released by the conference on Thursday. The poll reflects the views of LSC coaches, sports information directors and media from around the conference.
In TAMIU's sixth-place selection, the Dustdevils earned a total of 128 points.
Defending LSC regular season and tournament champion, Midwestern State, took the top spot in the poll, earning 245 total points and 15 first place votes out of a total of 26.
West Texas A&M placed second in the poll with 230 points and seven first place votes, while St. Mary's earned is slated third with 199 points and three first place votes.
LSC Tourament runner-up, Lubbock Christian, followed in fourth place with 162 points and the final first place vote, while UT Tyler rounded out the top five with 153 points.
Following sixth place TAMIU and rounding out the poll in seventh-10th place are, UT Permian Basin (100), Oklahoma Christian (83), DBU (78) and Eastern New Mexico (52).
New to the LSC Preseason Poll is the Players to Watch list and three Dustdevil newcomers made the list.

Robin Verhoeven (Goalkeeper).
The 2022 men's soccer season opens Thursday, August 25, with 10 teams competing in a nine-game single-round robin schedule. The LSC Men's Soccer Championship will include the top six teams based on conference points. The tournament will begin with quarterfinal matches on Tuesday, November 1, followed by the semifinal and championship matches at the No. 1 seed on Friday, November 4 and Sunday, November 6.
