KINGSVILLE, Texas – Texas A&M International volleyball faced Texas A&M-Kingsville in non-conference action on Thursday, but were unable to have the same result as the home opener, falling to the Javelinas 3-2.

The Dustdevils (11-4, 2-0 LSC) looked to be headed towards a second win against Texas A&M-Kingsville (9-6, 1-1 LSC), after taking the opening two sets by final scores of 25-21.

The Javelinas settled in despite the deficit and went on to win set three 25-18 and then set four 25-20. TAMUK would then go on to jump ahead quickly in set five, to complete the comeback with a 15-7 set win.

Three Dustdevils had double-digit kills with senior Meagan Menchaca leading the way with 20. Sophomore
Giulia Hortelan added 14 kills and 19 digs for a double-double, while graduate student
Mackenzie Catalina added 13 kills and 12 digs for a double-double of her own.

Emma Lade had yet another great game with a 44 kill, 18 dig double-double.

TAMIU resumes Lone Star Conference play on Tuesday, Sept. 27 when they travel to Oklahoma City to face Oklahoma Christian. Opening serve is slated for 7 p.m.
