DENTON, Texas – Texas A&M International volleyball cruised to its second consecutive 3-0 sweep, defeating Cameron on Friday morning.

Now off to their best start since becoming an NCAA Division II member, the Dustdevils (8-3, 0-0 LSC) jumped ahead in set one holding a 21-12 lead. Cameron (5-5, 0-0 LSC) stormed back using a 9-1 run to cut the score to 22-21 in favor of TAMIU, but the Dustdevils would hold on for a 25-22 set victory.

In set two, it was the Aggies who jumped ahead with a lead of 11-5 and held it halfway through at 15-10. A 7-0 Dustdevil run gave them the lead and after Cameron tied it 17-17, TAMIU would charge ahead for yet another 25-22 victory.
The closing set saw the Dustdevils take an 8-2 lead quickly, and it ultimately grew to 20-11 and then 23-14. The Aggies fought back, to cut the deficit to 23-19, but TAMIU held serve and ended the set 25-21.

Mackenzie Catalina had a team high 13 kills and was followed by senior
Megan Menchaca who had 12.

Sophomore
Lixai Perez set her season high with 21 digs, while Catalina earned her fifth double-double of the season with 14 digs.
Freshman
Emma Lade added 32 assists, pushing her season total to 428 on the year.

After a successful day two of the Lone Star Conference Crossover Tournament, the Dustdevils conclude their time in Denton with a 1 p.m. matchup on Saturday against Western New Mexico.
