Langat Leads TAMIU to 1st Place Finish

San Antonio, Texas – Texas A&M International cross country ended the regular season with style after freshman Emmanuel Langat won the men's race and led the Dustdevils to a team championship at the Saint's Classic hosted by Our Lady of the Lake in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday.

TAMIU had the fastest three runners in the men's race with Emmanuel Langat taking first with a time of 25:02.2, Josphat Langat taking second with a time of 25:02.4 and Malvin Boen finishing in third with a time of 25:37.5.

Ethan Chavez placed 18th with a time of 26:45.9 and Daniel Villarreal finished 19th with a time of 26:52.4.

The women finished third as a team and were led by Beverlyne Kipchumba who placed second with a time of 21:42.08.

Laura Jeptoo took 13th running the course in 24:22.6, Giselle Aguilar placed 19th with a time of 24:58.1, Rose Iminza finished 20th with a time of 25:13.4, Samantha Alvarez placed 24th with a 26:43.4 and Destiny Villarreal finished in 30th with a 28:16.5
