LAREDO, Texas - Texas A&M International University head women's soccer coach Jovany Macias announced the signing of Michelle Velasco to the 2023 class on Thursday.

A native of El Paso, Texas, Velasco joins TAMIU after finding her high school career at Chapin High School. 

She helped lead the Huskies to a 14-12 record her senior season. She made the All-District and All-Region First Team all four years. She scored 26 goals her senior season and had the highest rate of assists in the district. 

Velasco chose TAMIU "to experience the high level of competition and to experience a different environment." She plans to pursue a degree in Psychology.
