TAMIU Women's Soccer Adds Gutierrez To 2023 Class

LAREDO, Texas – Texas A&M International University head women's soccer coach Jovany Macias announced the signing of Savannah Gutierrez to the 2023 class on Thursday.

A native of Tucson, Ariz., Loretan joins TAMIU after beginning her collegiate career at Pima Community College in Tucson.

Gutierrez helped lead the Aztecs to a 2021 ACCAC Region Championship, as well as being NJCAA National Runner-ups. She also earned Third Team NJCAA All-Academic status.

In her two seasons, the defender totaled three assists and in her 39 games, teams scored just 26 goals against the Aztecs.

Prior to Pima CC, Gutierrez played for and graduated from Tucson Magnet High School, while also competing for her club, FC Tucson Youth Academy.

Gutierrez chose TAMIU because of how welcoming the team and coaching staff was, while knowing she can grow as a person and player while being a Dustdevil.
