Stillwater, Okla. – TAMIU men's and women's cross country both competed in the 2023 Cowboy Jamboree at Oklahoma State University on Saturday.
For the women, who placed 14th as a team in the 19 team field, Beverlyne Kipchumba paced the Dustdevils with a time of 23:54.8 in the 6K, placing 55th in the 200 runner field.
Giselle Aguilar placed 134th with a time of 26:37.3. Rose Iminza took 148th place finish with a time of 27:07.8, while Jazlynn Villalobos placed 157th at 27:24.5.
Samantha Alvarez placed 182nd with a time of 28:23.5, while Laura Jeptoo (186th – 28:48.0) rounded out the field.
In the men's 8K race as a team TAMIU finished in a impressive 11th place out of 23 teams.
Emmanuel Langat led the charge for the Dustdevils, placing 38th out of 200 runners with a time of 26:08.1.
Josphat Langat followed with a 77th place finish and a time of 27:05.3, while Malvin Boen was right behind in 83rd place with a time of 27:09.7.
Alan Hernandez went on to place 141st at 28:29.4, while Aldo Cantu was 153rd and a time of 28:46.1.
Ethan Chavez (163rd, 29:01.4), and Daniel Villarreal (175th, 29:30.0) rounded out the order.
TAMIU next races at Dallas Baptist University on Saturday, Oct. 7.
