LAREDO, Texas (Dec. 12, 2025) — Former Texas A&M International University standout Parker Holekamp has made national headlines as he continues a historic rise through the professional golf ranks, officially advancing to the Finals of PGA TOUR Qualifying School and securing professional status for the 2025–26 season.

Holekamp, who starred for the Dustdevils from 2017–2021, is now guaranteed status on either the PGA TOUR or the Korn Ferry Tour depending on his finish at this week's Q-School Finals—an achievement reached by only a select group of elite competitors each year.
"Feels kind of like a dream, so I hope nobody wakes me up anytime soon," Holekamp told the Korn Ferry Tour. "I mean you always have a dream as a kid, but I didn't really think that I really had a shot until my last couple of years of college. I'm definitely a late late bloomer."

TAMIU Head Golf Coach Rudy Gonzalez, who coached Holekamp during his collegiate career and continues to guide him today, said his rapid climb is no surprise.
"To see Parker's progression—from learning to compete in Division II, to making two U.S. Amateur appearances, to becoming an All-American, and now earning his way in professional golf—has been incredible," Gonzalez said. "He's going to be around for a long time, and I'm truly blessed to still be part of his journey today."

Holekamp has earned national attention for his steady, composed play throughout the qualifying process. His advancement to the final stage marks one of the most significant professional golf achievements by a TAMIU alumnus.

During his collegiate career, Holekamp became one of the most decorated golfers in program history, earning All-American honors, multiple tournament victories and helping elevate TAMIU's profile on the national stage.

Q-School Finals — held this week at Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida — will determine his status for the upcoming season. A top finish would earn full PGA TOUR membership, while all other finalists secure Korn Ferry Tour privileges.
