Richardson, Texas – Freshman Ian Rono swept the weekly awards for the Lone Star Conference winning Male Runner of the Week and Male Freshman Runner of the Week.

Rono earned the honors coming off a record-breaking performance at the UIW Invitational on September 12.

Rono started the season strong for TAMIU, winning the UIW Invitational title in the 149-runner field. The freshman finished the 4-mile race in a TAMIU school record 18:45.3, besting the second-place runner by 30.1 seconds.
