SAN ANGELO, Texas — Texas A&M International wrapped up play at the Angelo State University George & Ola McCorkle Challenge with a 1–4 record, highlighted by a dominant offensive performance in a run-rule victory over Ouachita Baptist.
Across five games, the Dustdevils faced Missouri Western State twice, Ouachita Baptist twice, and host Angelo State, battling through several close contests against strong early-season competition.
Game 1: Missouri Western State 4, TAMIU 1
TAMIU opened the tournament with a tight game against Missouri Western State. Austyn Marriage provided the early spark with a solo home run in the first inning, accounting for the Dustdevils' only run.
Missouri Western State pulled away late, scoring once in the sixth and adding two more in the seventh to secure the 4–1 win.
Kylie Goad went the distance in the circle, allowing four runs on seven hits over seven innings.
Game 2: Ouachita Baptist 7, TAMIU 1
In the second game of the day, Ouachita Baptist used a three-run first inning and a four-run fourth to build a 7–0 lead.
TAMIU's lone run came in the fifth when Cecilia Saldivar drove in Isabella Perez, who had doubled earlier in the inning.
Game 3: Missouri Western State 2, TAMIU 1 (9 innings)
The Dustdevils battled Missouri Western State in an extra-inning pitcher's duel. Miley Vinton delivered the go-ahead RBI single in the top of the ninth to put TAMIU in front 1–0.
However, Missouri Western responded in the bottom half with a two-run walk-off home run to take the 2–1 victory.
Nevaeh Herrera turned in a strong outing, allowing just two runs (one earned) over 8.1 innings.
Game 4: TAMIU 13, Ouachita Baptist 1 (5 innings)
The Dustdevils erupted offensively in the second meeting with Ouachita Baptist, scoring five runs in the first, five more in the third, and three in the fourth.
TAMIU totaled 11 hits, including home runs from Miley Vinton, Krysta Ruiz, and Ci-hara Wessling.
Madison Taylor Gray earned the win in the circle, allowing just one run over four innings.
Game 5: Angelo State 7, TAMIU 0
In the tournament finale, host Angelo State limited TAMIU to one hit in a 7–0 shutout.
Queenandra Dunn recorded the Dustdevils' lone hit, while Kylie Goad took the loss after allowing seven runs over 4.1 innings.

Vinton delivered a strong all-around performance to lead the Dustdevils at the McCorkle Challenge. The outfielder produced one of the team's biggest offensive moments with a home run in TAMIU's 13–1 run-rule victory over Ouachita Baptist and followed it up with a three-hit performance in the extra-inning battle against Missouri Western State, including the go-ahead RBI single in the ninth. Vinton's consistent presence at the plate and timely hitting highlighted TAMIU's offense throughout the five-game tournament.
