2017:
Appeared in nine matches making one start for the Dustdevils logging 152 minutes. Played a season-high 90 minutes against nationally-ranked St. Edward’s in Austin on Sept. 14.  Recorded his lone shot of the season in a 2-1 overtime victory over Eastern New Mexico on Sept. 23. 

2016:
Garza made an immediate impact for the Dustdevil defense as a freshman making 15 appearances including 12 starts. The Mission, Texas native registered 993 minutes during his first season in Laredo including playing the entire match seven times. He recorded his only shot of the season in a 4-1 victory over Dallas Baptist on Sept. 17.

High School: Sharyland High School (Class of 2013)
Garza played soccer as a Center Back for his team as he was named 2013-Team MVP and earned First Team All-District. He was also part of the 2012 5A-Texas State Championship Team.

Personal: Gerardo Garza Jr. is son of Elizabeth and Gerardo Garza. He is joined by his lone brother and teammate Gabriel Garza. He decided to come to TAMIU for their excellent engineering program. His most inspirational figure is the late Muhammad Ali. His future aspiration and goal is to graduate from the university. His favorite athlete is Leonel Messi who currently plays for FC Barcelona as well as the Argentinian National Soccer Team. In his spare time, Garza enjoys his resting time as well as listening to music.
