Amador competed in all five meets for the Dustdevils highlighted with a 16
th place finish at the Islander Splash running 23:015 on the four-mile course. He finished 63
rd at the Heartland Conference Championships in Wichita, Kan. covering the 8,000-meter course in 29:20.9. Registered a top-50 finish at the UIW Invitational running 30:00.2.
2016:
Amador competed in four meets as a freshman for the Dustdevils including a Top-15 finish at the Islander Splash. He finished 69
th at the Heartland Conference Cross Country Championships covering the 8,000-meter course in 28:37.7. He finished 75
th at the 7
th Annual Roadrunner Invitational hosted by Metro State running 30:30.1 over 8,000m. He finished 15
th at the Islander Splash where he ran 28:50.6 on the 8,000m course. He finished 118
th at the Rice Invitational in his first collegiate race at TAMIU.
High School: Martin High School (Class of 2015)
Amador ran (3) years of Soccer as a center midfielder and ran Cross Country. He earned (3) time All-City runner, qualified for Area, was First Team All-District, and served as Team Captain.
Personal: Marcos Amador is the son of Sheila M. Garcia and Marcos Amador. He is joined by his (2) brothers Marlon Amador and Kevin Garcia. Amador chose TAMIU beacuse of the numerous opportunites it offers. His most inspirational figure is the President of the United States, Barack Obama. His fure aspiration is to change the world. His favorite athlete is Leo Messi who currectly plays for FC Barcelona as well as the Argentinian National Soccer Team. In his spare time, Amador enjoys playing soccer.
