2019 Lone Star Conference Goalkeeper of the Week

2019:
Jones started in all 20 games for TAMIU and participated in 7 shutouts including a 1-0 victory over West Texas A&M in the quarterfinals of the Lone Star Conference Championship (Nov. 12). Jones also was named Goalkeeper of the Week for posting back-to-back 1-0 Lone Star Conference shutout victories on the road over No. 22 West Texas A&M (Oct. 10) and Eastern New Mexico (Oct. 12).

2018:
Played all 90 minutes in a match at Westminster College on Sept. 6. 

2017:
Made three starts in goal for the Dustdevils making 14 saves while allowing only four goals for a save percentage of .778. He recorded a shutout in his first career start in a 2-0 victory over Oklahoma Christian on Sept. 30. 

Prior To TAMIU:
As a soccer player on the Western Texas College, Jones earned NJCAA Division I All-Region V Honorable Mention honors as a sophomore appearing in six games and a total of 544 minutes. He made 34 saves on 45 shots for a save percentage of .756.
 
High School:
Excelled in the classroom and on the pitch at Mexborough School where earned 11 GCSE A*-C while also earning a variety of sports personality awards.
 
Personal:
Joshua Jones is the son of Julie Jones and has one sister, Emily (22). He chose to attend TAMIU because of its great soccer program. Peter Schmeichel, former Manchester United goalkeeper, is his most inspirational figure. Jones has plans on becoming a teacher after graduating from TAMIU.
