HIGH SCHOOL:
Tapia graduated from Crystal City HS and played for four years under Coach Criselda Mata Tapia. At CCHS, she logged 1,640 assists, 1,056 digs, 499 kills, 305 aces in her career. She was named a three-time All-State selection, the 2016 29-4A All-District Newcomer of the Year, a three-time 29-4A First Team All-District selection, the 2019-2020 Team MVP and the 2019-2020 Fighting Hear Award winner. Tapia was also a four-time 29-4A Academic All-District honoree, a 2019 TAVC Academic All-State honoree and a 2019 TGCA Academic All-State honoree.

PERSONAL:
Tapia is the daughter of Criselda Mata and Jesus Tapia, and has two siblings. Her father, Jesus, played baseball at Sul Ross State University. She is majoring in kinesiology with a minor in psychology.
