Prior to TAMIU:
Tijerina spent two years playing at Laredo College. At LC, she was named the NJCAA Region XIV Co-Libero of the Year in 2019 as well as being named Second Team All-Region XIV. She was also named LC Defensive Player of the Year in 2019. Additionally, she ranked third in the nation with 75 service aces and seventh in the nation with 691 total digs. Tijerina finished her career at LC with 1,055 digs and 99 service aces. She was just as successful in the classroom where she was a three-time Dean's List honoree.

HIGH SCHOOL:
Tijerina graduated from Jubliee Academy Charter School and played under Coach Delra Glover. At Jubliee Academy, she was named MVP and received District and Regional MVP honors as well. She was also named First Team All-State in the TCSAAL system, as well as garnering All-State Academic Team honors.

PERSONAL:
Tijerina is the daughter of Lizbeth Gonzalez and Carlos Tijerina, and has two siblings. She is majoring in kinesiology with a minor in nutrition.
