2017:

Rivera had an impressive senior campaign where he earned All-Heartland Conference 2nd Team recognition after leading the team in goals and points. The Phoenix, Ariz. product scored eight goals, all coming in conference play, and two assists for a team-high 18 points. He also led the team in shots on-goal (30) which is the fourth-most in a single season in program history. He ranked 29th in the nation in shots on-goal per game (1.88) while ranking second in shots (45). He went 3-of-4 from the penalty spot while registering two or more goals against Eastern New Mexico and Oklahoma Christian. 

2016:
Rivera was one of eight Dustdevils to register over 1,000 minutes on the pitch as the transfer made 16 appearances and nine starts in his first season in Canyon. He finished with a team-high three assists and 21 shots, eight of those being on-target for a .381 shot on goal percentage. He recorded his first assist of his career in a 4-0 victory over Eastern New Mexico on Sept. 24. He recorded a career-high four shots in matches against ENMU and St. Mary’s. Played a career-high 94 minutes in the Dustdevils season opening loss to Adams State in Alamosa, Colo.

Transfer: Iowa Western Community College
Rivera played (2) years of soccer for the Reivers where he was part of the 2013 NJCAA National Championship Team. He also earned his associates degree during his time there.

High School: Maryvale High School (Class of 2012)
Rivera played (3) years of soccer for the Black Panthers as he earned All-State recogniton for his alma mater.

Club Soccer: Real Salt Lake Academy Soccer - Casa Grande
Rivera played (2) years as he placed 3rd place at the National Championship tournament.

Personal: Alan Romario Rivera is son of Maricela Hernandez and David Rivera as he is joined by his (4) siblings: Christian, Laura, Leslie, and Valerie. He decided to come to TAMIU for their great program along with the opportunities the university provides. His most inspirational figures are his parents. His future aspirations is to manage a business, be a DJ, and a pro athlete. In his spare time, Rivera enjoys music, volunteering, and festivals.
