Garza appeared in 10 matches including one start in 2017 logging 164 minutes. Played a season-high 59 minutes on the road against nationally-ranked St. Edward’s.

2016:
Redshirt.

High School: Sharyland High School (Class of 2016)
Garza played soccer all (4) years of high school as a Midfielder. He earned All-District and All-Region recognitions. He was named MVP and served as Team Captain.

Personal: Gabriel Garza is son of Elizabeth and Gerardo Garza. He is joined by Gerardo Garza Jr., his lone brother. Garza decided to make his way into TAMIU because he wanted a university that recognizes their soccer program for their hard work and dedication to their student athletes. His most inspirational figures are his parents, Elizabeth and Gerardo. Garza's future aspirations and goals is to become the best player that he can be, as well as to be able to walk the stage as a graduate of TAMIU. His favorite athlete is Cristiano Ronaldo who currently players for the National Soccer Team of Portugal. In his spare time, Garza enjoys working out or exercising or watching a movie of his choice.
