LAREDO, Texas (May 12, 2017) - The Texas A&M International University Cross Country program announced the signing of Karla Resendez on Friday morning. 

The Cross Country program adds Student-Athlete Karla Resendez out of Laredo's United South High School. The addition of Karla Resendez will provide depth into the program that placed 2nd and 4th in the Heartland Conference over the last two seasons.

Resendez is the sibling of First Team All Conference Runner Linda Resendez of the 2015-16 squad.

Head Coach Benny Rodriguez commented, "I'm excited of her signing because she is one tough girl that will provide a spark on our well rounded team. She is a little diamond in the rough, with a little polishing I'm sure she will be just as good as her sister or better! Our women's team will be solid NEXT YEAR!"
