LAREDO, Texas — The Dustdevils enter the matchup versus ENMU after losing two consecutive regular-season games for the first time since Feb. 7, 2013. They fell to both Colorado-Colorado Springs and Metro State at the University of Colorado Springs-Colorado Springs Thanksgiving Basketball Tournament.
The Dustdevils have shot lights-out from beyond the 3-point arc, ranking 10th in the nation in 3-point field goals per game and 83rd in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage.

TAMIU ranks sixth in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio.
SHOOTING AND SMOTHERING
The Dustdevils have scored more than 60 points in a game in all but one game this season – including in their two losses. Defensively, TAMIU has held opponents to less than 50 points in exactly half of their games.
CONFERENCE QUEENS
In the Heartland Conference, TAMIU ranks first in assists and assist-turnover ratio. It's third in field-goal percentage, scoring defense, rebounding offense, defensive field-goal percentage and scoring margin.

NOTES ABOUT THE SERIESTAMIU is 1-1 against Eastern New Mexico, winning a 69-59 decision in Laredo last season. The Dustdevils opened a massive 19-point lead to start the second half before loosening their full-court press on the Zias around the 15-minute mark. ENMU bullied TAMIU in the paint, scoring 30 points – eight more than the Dustdevils – but TAMIU's speed and athleticism proved the difference. TAMIU soared with 17 points off second-chance plays – seven more than the visitors. As a team, the Dustdevils flared with a 42.1 field goal percentage and a 34.8 percentage from long range, but it was TAMIU's resilience off the boards – completing nine more rebounds – that created the winning chances.. Texas A&M-International was led by 17 points and 10 rebounds from Malika Jackson, while Tina Dang chipped in 16 points.
The Zias earned an 89-75 win, in San Antonio, on Dec. 31, 2008, in the initial contest between the teams. ENMU's Cat Clay shot five-for-12 from outside the arc and paced the Zias with 28 points, eight rebounds and five assists, while Tori Northcutt finished with nine points, five rebounds, 13 assists and three steals. Jasmine June led the Dustdevils with 16 points and seven rebounds. June hit all 10 of her free throw attempts.
