LAREDO, Texas (January 19, 2017) - The Texas A&M International University Men's Basketball team returns to Laredo after playing three games on the road. The Dustdevils host Newman University in the TAMIU KCB at 7:30pm CST. 

Last Contest:
The Dustdevils (11-6 Overall/5-2 Heartland Conference) picked up a thrilling 51-45 win over the St. Mary's Rattlers on January 14. Deveino McRae finished the afternoon with 15 points, a career high in his two seasons with the Dustdevils. McRae picked up a double-double, adding 13 rebounds to his effort. Kenny Hatch finished the afternoon with 11 points, five rebounds, and three assists. The Dustdevil defensive effort was the fifth fewest points allowed to a NCAA Division II opponent in school history. 

The Competition:
The Jets (6-9 Overall/4-2 Heartland Conference) come into play after a 81-102 loss to Dallas Baptist on January 12.  Daniel Nwosu led the Jets with 21 points. Kevin Bryant added 12 rebounds while Daniel Green picked up four blocks. 

Heartland Conference:
The Dustdevils are tied for first place in the Heartland Conference through seven games. TAMIU and St. Edward's hold 5-2 conference records, standing alone at the top of the leaderboard. Dallas Baptist and Newman post 4-2 records, holding the third and fourth place spots, while Rogers State is fifth with a 5-3 record. History:
The Dustdevils and Jets split their matchups in the 2015-16 season. Newman pulled out a 76-78 win in Wichita while TAMIU picked up a double overtime thriller win at home, defeating the Jets 83-78. The teams have met up 18 times with Newman holding the all-time series lead 10-8.
