He got off to a hot start against Texas A&M-Kingsville on Friday with 13 points in the first half but only had three in the second half in the loss. Junior Xabier Gomez (13.2 ppg, 4.5 rpg) has been great out on the wing for TAMIU on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball.

The duo of Dan Milota (12.8 ppg, 3.8 rpg) and Kamari Robinson (11.2 ppg, 6.5 rpg) have been great in the post for the Dustdevils both averaging a career-high in points and rebounds. Robinson had the best game of his career against the Javelinas on Friday night going for 19 points and 13 rebounds while going a career-high 7-of-12 from the field. Milota played a season-low 18 minutes in the loss due to foul trouble but came alive in the second half making two crucial 3-pointers down the stretch.

Brendan Ortiz (8.7 ppg, 3.3 rpg) had started the previous three games before missing the game against TAMUK on Friday. Earlier in the week he had a career-night against the Javelinas with 15 points going 6-of-9 from the field. Damon Leach (1.5 ppg, 2.8 rpg) and Danny Spinuzza (2.8 ppg, 2.2 ppg) have played valuable minutes off the bench for the Dustdevils the past three games.

THE SERIES
Monday's meeting will be the first game between the two programs… TAMIU has only played in the state of New Mexico back in Nov. 20, 2012 when they defeated Eastern New Mexico 68-67 in Portales.

A TAMIU WIN WOULD…
Improve the Dustdevils record against Lone Star Conference opponents to 28-40… Snap a four-game losing streak to LSC schools… Be the second victory in the state New Mexico… Improve TAMIU to 4-1 all-time against schools in N.M.

A TAMIU LOSS WOULD…
Hand the Dustdevils their first loss on New Mexico soil… Drop the Dustdevils below .500 for the first time this season… Mark the first time since January 2015 that the Dustdevils have lost three straight games.

A LOOK BACK AT FRIDAY
The Dustdevils dropped a heartbreaker to Texas A&M-Kingsville 66-61 on Friday at the TAMIU KCB marking the second time in four days TAMIU fell victim to the Javelinas. Both teams shot 38.5% from the field with the Javelinas taking 15 more free-throws than TAMIU.

Kamari Robinson tied for the game-high in points with 19 while pulling down 13 rebounds for his first career double-double. Jeremy Wright scored 13 of his 16 points in the first half on 6-of-16 shooting from the field. Xabier Gomez was the third Dustdevil in double figures with 13 points on a career 11 attempts.

THIS DAY IN DUSTDEVIL MEN'S BASKETBALL HISTORY…
The Dustdevils are 2-0 all-time in games played on Nov. 27… The Dustdevils defeated Southeastern Oklahoma State 76-64 in 2010 after defeating Webber International at home 71-68 in 2009… TAMIU has never played a true road game on Nov. 27.

HAVE YOURSELF A GAME MR. ROBINSON
Kamari Robinson had himself a game on Friday against Texas A&M-Kingsville registering his first career double-double in the process. The Springfield, Mass. product scored a career-high 19 points going 7-of-12 from the field including a perfect 4-of-4 of the charity stripe while pulling down 13 rebounds. Even in the loss, Robison had his best first half in a TAMIU jersey scoring 11 points and seven rebounds.
