LAREDO, Texas (February 18, 2017) - The Texas A&M International University Men's Basketball team hosted St. Mary's for the final home game of the 2016-17 season. The Dustdevils picked up a 66-53 win, improving to 18-9 overall (11-5 Heartland Conference).
First Half:
Despite trailing by nine early in the second half, the Dustdevils came back to bring the game within two at the half. A 7-0 run before the final media timeout of the first half evened the game at 25.
Bunja Yaboe picked up a team high eight first half points.
Deveino McRae picked up a team high four rebounds.
TAMIU shot 35% from the field and connected on three shots behind the arc.
Second Half:
The Dustdevils quickly took the lead in the second half, opening a five point lead in the first four minutes of second half action. The Dustdevils would hold the lead for the final 18:02, pushing the lead to 14 at it's largest point.
Denzel Bellot picked up a game high 15 second half points, leading the Dustdevils offensively. Yaboe added 10 second half points and seven rebounds.

Bryan Weakley commented on the win, "It was nice to get a win on senior night. Our team really stepped up in the second half. We have a tough roadtrip coming up. We need to have a great week of practice."

The Dustdevils travel to Goodwell, Oklahoma for their next matchup. TAMIU will take on Oklahoma Panhandle State, tip-off is set for 7:30pm.
