LAREDO, Texas (March 26, 2017) - The Texas A&M International University Softball team hosted Texas A&M Commerce to close out a five-game weekend on Sunday. The Dustdevils were dealt a pair of losses, moving to 10-20 overall. 
Game 1: TAMIU 1 - TAMUC 5
A third inning run would not be enough to defeat the Lions in game one. 
Cassie Cannon put the Dustdevils ahead with an RBI single in the third inning, scoring 
Acacia Salinas. 
Commerce came back to score four runs in the fifth inning, opening a 4-1 lead. 
The Lions picked up a fifth run in the seventh inning, putting TAMIU behind by four with just half an inning remaining. 
Sara Caterson tossed all seven innings in game one. Caterson picked up four strikeouts and moves to 3-4 on the season. 
Game 2: TAMIU 0 - TAMUC 13
The Dustdevil bats were silenced in game two, picking up just four hits. Five Dustdevil errors allowed TAMUC to take a commanding lead in the fourth inning. 
The Lions pulled ahead 3-0 after three innings of play in game two. A seven run fourth inning put the game out of reach for TAMIU, leading to the second game loss. 
Tori Carrion tossed four innings in the circle, striking out a pair of Lions. 
Sarah Sandoval tossed the final inning. 
Up Next:
The Dustdevils hit the road for their next set of games. TAMIU will take on Rogers State on Friday, March 31. First pitch is set for 2pm.
