CLAREMORE, Oklahoma (March 31, 2017) - The Texas A&M International University Softball team took on Rogers State University in a Heartland Conference doubleheader on Friday. TAMIU picked up a 3-0 win in game one, taking game two 4-1. The Dustdevils improve to 12-20 overall (6-2 Heartland Conference).
Game 1: TAMIU 3 - RSU 0
Brandi Giles put the Dustdevils ahead 2-0 in the second inning of game two, launching a two run homerun to left field. The homerun brought in
Alyssa Acuna.
Brenda Parnin would put the Dustdevils ahead 3-0 in the third, driving in
Taylor Vines on an RBI double to left center.
Sara Caterson took to the circle for TAMIU in game one, tossing a two-hit shutout. Caterson tossed all seven innings, striking out two Hillcats. Caterson moves to 4-4 on the season.
Game 2: TAMIU 4 - RSU 1
The Hillcats jumped out to the early lead in game two, plating a run in the first inning.
The Dustdevils would tie the game in the fourth after an errant throw allowed Jenelle Rodriguez to score, knotting the game at one.
Vines put the Dustdevils ahead in the fifth with an RBI single, scoring Avianna Galvan. Parnin would add a second Dustdevil run after grounding out to second, allowing
Cassie Cannon to score.
Alyssa Acuna would put TAMIU ahead 4-1 with a seventh inning sacrifice fly, scoring
Krystal Perez.
Delainy Thompson picked up the win in the circle, tossing seven innings. Thompson struck out seven Hillcats in the win.

The Dustdevils close out the three game series with RSU on Saturday. First pitch is set for 12pm.
