LAREDO, Texas -Â Texas A&M International volleyball picked up its 15th win of the season with a 3-0 victory over Eastern New Mexico.Â
The opening set was quick, as the Dustdevils (15-5, 6-1 LSC) cruised to a 25-11 win behind an 11-1 run to open the set.Â
Set two again was all TAMIU early, but the Greyhounds (12-11, 3-8 LSC) fought back to tie it 17-17. The Dustdevils would utilize an 8-2 run to close the set.
The final set was the closest, with TAMIU taking the win 25-23. The Dustdevils again jumped in front, but it was back and forth once Eastern New Mexico fought back in.Â
Senior Megan Menchaca has a team high 13 kills, while graduate student Mackenzie Catalina and sophomore Giulia Hortelan has 12 and 11 respectively.Â
Catalina earned a double-double with 15 digs and Hortelan did so with 10 of her own.
Freshman setter Emma Lade put together a 34 assist showing in the three set win.
TAMIU looks to make it a record season since joining NCAA Division II when they meet Lubbock Christian on Saturday, Oct. 15. Opening serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
