RICHARDSON, Texas - Texas A&M International junior men's golfer Mauricio Figueroa was named Lone Star Conference Men's Golfer of the Week by the conference on Thursday.

Figueroa has picked up where he finished 2021-22 as a super regional qualifier, as he finished T-4th in the NCAA West Regional Fall Preview that took place on Monday and Tuesday.

On Monday, Figueroa posted a -1 (71) in round one, then a -6 (66) in round two. In Tuesday's final round, Figueroa shot a -2 (70) to clinch his second top five finish in the non-championship tournament season.

Since joining TAMIU last season, Figueroa has two victories, including the 2022 Lone Star Conference Individual Championship, six top fives, seven top 10 and eight top 15 finishes.
