DENTON, Texas – Texas A&M International volleyball opened the Lone Star Conference Crossover Tournament against host Texas Woman's, falling to the Pioneers 3-0.

The first set ended close at 25-20, but Texas Woman's (6-3, 0-0 LSC) found a groove to win sets two and three by scores of 25-18 and 25-13.

The Dustdevils (6-3, 0-0 LSC), whose offense was clicking in the opening two tournaments never found their groove, hitting just .115 in on the morning with 36 total kills.

Megan Menchaca and sophomore
Giulia Hortelan ended the game with 12 kills each, while freshman
Emma Lade assisted on 25 of the teams 36 kills.

Lixai Perez opened the tournament with 18 digs, while Hortelan finished next in line with 12.

TAMIU has a quick turnover as they play Midwestern State at 4 p.m. today in its second of four games at the tournament.
