Laredo, TX- The TAMIU Men's Basketball locker room is filled with excitement following the announcement of Coach Seth Vinton as the new assistant coach for the Dustdevils. Seth is known for being a hard worker and being a relentless recruiter. He has a degree in communication and looks forward to being able to use that to reach the team. Coach Vinton or also known as "Coach V," has been around programs with a history of turning teams into playoff contenders. During his time at Sam Houston, the team posted four twenty plus win seasons during his time there. Coach Vinton also played a part in leading Sam Houston to their first NIT win in school history. During his time there, Coach Vinton was mentored under the all-time winningest coach at Sam Houston, Jason Hooten. He gives huge praise to Coach Hooten for allowing him to be in the coaching world and for helping him take the proper steps to try to become the best coach he can be.

Coach Mac issued the following statement,
"Coach Vinton is a young coach and hard worker. He has the admiration and determination to work his way up through the ranks of coaching. He has a great work ethic.
