ROCKWALL, TEXAS – The Dustdevils Women's Golf Team competed in the Lone Star Conference Championship finishing 10th as a team after 54 holes of play.
Thirteen teams, a total 69 players from the Lone Star Conference competed in three rounds of 18 holes in two days of play on a 72-par course.
After two days of play, the DBU Patriots won the conference championship, going a total of 12 over par.
TAMIU (393/392/397=1,182) finished 10th overall going 64 over par passing teams such as Western New Mexico, Cameron, and UTPB.
Senior Margret Nyamukondiwa led the team, finishing 20th overall with a total of 10 over par collecting three birdies over three rounds (76/75/74 =225).
Senior Ebba Nordin also had a strong finish placing 28th overall, going 13 over par collecting seven birdies (77/75/77= 229).
Sophomore Kiara Montebon finished 22 over par collecting two birdies in her three rounds of play (76/83/79 = 238)
Senior Emilynn Tran finished with a total of 30 over par (87/76/83 = 246).
Junior Agathe Lacoste finished 27 over par collecting a single birdie in her three rounds of play (76/83/84=243)
This championship concludes a women's golf season that finished top 10 six times this year. Texas A&M International Women's Golf finished 52nd out of 186 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Teams in the country this season.
Head Coach Rodolfo Gonzalez reflected on this season "We fell short of our goal of a conference championship but this group never stopped competing. Proud of the fight, and we'll be better because of it."
