LAREDO, TEXAS - After an impressive 25-26 season, TAMIU Golf hits the ground running, welcoming six new players to the program.
Three men and three women will be joining TAMIU Golf from different parts of the world, all are very excited to play.
Pilar Ariaudo from Junin, Argentina says she's joining TAMIU because "I believe it's a competitive environment that will help me improve not only as a golfer, but also as a student."
Ariaudo a transfer from William Woods University, has three wins under her belt already, winning player of the week honors twice while maintaining a 4.0 GPA.
Another transfer that found her way to TAMIU is Jiratchaya Cheewasupakorn "Nemo", from Bangkok, Thaliand. She currently has a WAGR of 777th and chose TAMIU because of "the campus community and culture seem really fun, and I look forward to improving athletically."
Paulina Aguero Falcon from Coahulia, Mexico, a true freshman, "I chose TAMIU because of the strong support from the coaching staff, the opportunity to grow both academically and athletically, and the welcoming team environment."
TAMIU Golf has proven to be a successful program with NCAA DII Regional births for multiple back-to-back seasons since 2021. This is why athletes from all over the world hear about TAMIU and Coach Rudy.
"I chose TAMIU because of the warmer climate and Coach Rudy's impressive coaching." Francisco Alberto Roubineau stated regarding why he came to TAMIU from Goya Corrientes, Argentina.
Two recruits come from Argentina and two come from the country of France as well with Timothée Restout and Arthur Calmelet joining the program.
Arthur, the Paris native is a transfer from William Woods University with Pilar Ariaudo, he collected one win so far in his career with five top 5 finishes while maintaining a 3.7 GPA.
Timothée from Toulouse, France is joining TAMIU because "it's a great fit for me academically and athletically, and the ability to play all year long in a warm climate is awesome."
Dustdevils Golf continues to draw talent from all around the globe and looks to have another successful season this year.
