LAREDO, Texas — Texas A&M International split a doubleheader with Eastern New Mexico on Friday at Dustdevil Field, dropping the opener 10-0 before rallying for a 3-2 walk-off win in Game 2.
Game 1 — Eastern New Mexico 10, TAMIU 0 (5 inn.)
Eastern New Mexico surged early and never let up, scoring 10 runs across the first three innings to secure a run-rule victory.
The Greyhounds capitalized on walks and timely hitting in the opening frame, plating four runs before adding three runs in both the second and third innings. Marissa Rodriguez powered the offense with a 3-for-3 performance that included a home run and four RBIs, while Giazza Lopez added three RBIs.
TAMIU was limited to three hits, with Austyn Marriage, Kennedy Griego, and Queenandra Dunn accounting for the offense.
Madison Taylor Gray settled in after entering in relief, throwing five innings with six strikeouts, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome.
Game 2 — TAMIU 3, Eastern New Mexico 2
The Dustdevils answered in dramatic fashion in the nightcap, walking it off in the bottom of the seventh to earn the split.
TAMIU jumped ahead early in the first inning as Kennedy Griego drove in a run with a double and later scored on a Victoria Espinoza RBI double to make it 2-0.
Eastern New Mexico responded in the fourth inning, tying the game at 2-2 behind a solo home run and an RBI single.
After both teams were held scoreless into the seventh, the Dustdevils put together the decisive rally. A walk and back-to-back singles loaded the bases before Griego drew a walk to bring home the winning run.
Kylie Goad delivered a complete-game effort in the circle, allowing two runs on eight hits to secure the victory.
Sessy Moreno led TAMIU with two hits and a run scored, while Griego reached base three times and drove in the game-winning run.

Goad went the distance in Game 2, holding Eastern New Mexico to two runs while navigating traffic throughout. Her complete-game performance anchored the Dustdevils' bounce-back win and helped secure the split.
