2016:
Martinez made his Dustdevil Debut against Arkansas Fort Smith. Martinez picked up 1 strikout over 1.1 innings.

High School: St. Augustine High School (Class of 2014)
Martinez participated in baseball and soccer at St. Augustine. He lettered for (4) years in baseball as a Pitcher and Shortstop. In 2011 he was awarded First Team All-District honors. In 2013 he was named as a member of the All-District Second Team. In his Senior year he made All-City Second Team, All-District First Team, and All-State Honorable Mention.

Personal:
Juan is the son of Gerardo and Berta Martinez. He is a brother to Alejandra and Bernardo. Martinez has completed 60 service hours at Salvation Army and completed over 100 hours in his 4 years of high school as community service. His hobby is team roping, an interesting fact about him  is that he won an 2013 Ford F-350 his junior year in team roping. Juan chose TAMIU because the academic program and the ability to play baseball in college. After TAMIU Juan wants to become a petroleum engineer.
