2018 Second Team All-Heartland Conference

2018:
Ramirez earned Second Team All-Heartland Conference honors as a junior after hitting a team-high .313 going 35 for 112 from the plate driving in six runs for a .313 slugging percentage with 12 walks and four sac bunts for a .384 on-base percentage. The Zapata product recorded 10 multi-hit games including a trio of 3-hit performances. Recorded 67 putouts, 64 assists and eight errors for a .942 fielding percentage.  He came up huge for the Dustdevils on March 10 with a walk-off single up the middle to give TAMIU a 7-6 over nationally-ranked Lubbock Christian. 

2016:
Ramirez led the Dustdevils in games played (46), starting in 45 games. Ramirez picked up 34 hits and drove in 19 runs in his first season with TAMIU.

2015: Alvin Community College
Ramirez attended Alvin Community College in Alvin, Texas before TAMIU.

High School: Zapata High School (Class of 2014)
Mario played baseball at Zapata High School as an Infielder.

Personal:
Mario is the son of Angela and Mario. He has a sister, Priscilla. He chose TAMIU because he wants to win a Heartland Conference Championship. In his spare time Mario enjoys hunting and fishing. After TAMIU he wants to become a Texas Warden. His role model is Floyd Mayweather.
