LAREDO, Texas (March 25, 2017) - The Texas A&M International University Softball team hosted Oklahoma Christian in the final game of a weekend series on Saturday. The Dustdevils defeated the Eagles 3-1, moving to 10-18 overall (4-2 Heartland Conference). 

For the third game in a row, the teams battled in an all out pitcher duel. 

The Eagles plated an early run in the second to take a 1-0 lead. The teams would trade scoreless innings over the next four before TAMIU put up three runs in the sixth. 

After being hit by a pitch to lead off the inning, Cassie Cannon came around to score the tying run after Robi Kami reached on a fielders choice. Cannon slid under the tag at the plate, knotting the game at one. 

Brenda Parnin would come around to score the go ahead run after Alyssa Acuna laid down a bunt for an infield single. 

Sara Caterson drove in the third run on an RBI single to center, scoring Kami. After six complete innings, the Dustdevils led 3-1. 

The Eagles loaded the bases in the top of the seventh before Delainy Thompson dealt the final blow, picking up her sixth win of the season. 

Thompson tossed all seven innings, allowing just one run. Thompson recorded four strikeouts in the win.

The Dustdevils remain at home for a Sunday doubleheader with Texas A&M Commerce. First pitch is set for 12pm.
