Sahara Washington were named 2021-22 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars, announced on Tuesday.
The 2021-22 WGCA All-American Scholar Team was announced today with a total of 1,485 women's collegiate golfers recognized with this prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
Anderson appeared in five regular season tournaments for the Dustdevils, placing top 10 in two and top 25 in another. In the Lone Star Conference Championship, Anderson had another top 25 finish and followed that with a T-12th in the NCAA West Regional, helping TAMIU earn a bid to the NCAA DII Championships.
Washington, during the regular season, both non-championship fall and the championship spring, earned a top 20 finish in eight of the nine tournaments, with the only outlier being a 21st place finish. Of the eight top 20's, seven were top 15 placements, five top 10's and three top fives, with her best finish a T-2nd at the CSU Pueblo Fall Invitational in October.
In the postseason, Washington finished T-15th in the Lone Star Conference Championships and followed that with a top five finish in the NCAA Division II West Regional, T-5th.
