Amarillo, Texas – Texas A&M International University women's golf capped off a successful season with a solid performance at the NCAA Division II West Regional, held May 5-7, in Amarillo, Texas. Despite weather delays that forced teams to play 36 holes on Wednesday, the Dustdevils remained focused and finished 10th out of 18 teams, posting a three-round total of 906 (308-292-306).
Zoe Wuermli led the way for TAMIU, turning in a steady performance to finish tied for 10th individually with rounds of 71, 75, and 74.
Margret Nyamukondiwa delivered a clutch 70 in the second round and finished tied for 16th with scores of 78, 70, and 74.
Also contributing to the Dustdevils' team effort were
Ebba Nordin (78-74-79),
Kiara Montebon (81-73-79), and
Emilynn Tran (82-78-79), each showcasing resilience on a challenging course under tight conditions.
"It was a long day out there competing alongside some of the best teams in the country. Our girls battled from start to finish and came up just short, but I couldn't be prouder to have coached this group," head coach
Rudy Gonzalez said. "They represented the entire TAMIU family with pride on a national stage. Congratulations to them on a great season —I'm excited to see what the future holds for this team."
The Dustdevils conclude the 2024-2025 campaign with pride, competing against the best in the region and continuing to raise the bar for TAMIU women's golf.
