TAMIU Women’s Golf Finishes Tied for Second at Jack Brown Memorial

SPICEWOOD, TX - The Texas A&M International University women's golf team delivered a strong showing at the Jack Brown Memorial, finishing tied for second place among a competitive field with a 36-over-par team total (604) after two rounds of play.

TAMIU carded rounds of 311 and 293, tying Angelo State University "A" for second and finishing just 19 strokes behind tournament champion Blinn College. The Dustdevils' final-round surge underscored their depth and consistency as multiple players posted improved scores on Day 2.
 

Nyamukondiwa Leads the Way

Senior Margret Nyamukondiwa paced the Dustdevils with an impressive fourth-place finish, tying for fourth overall at 5-over-par (147). Nyamukondiwa opened the tournament with a 76 before firing a 71 in the final round, one of the lowest scores of the day, to climb the leaderboard and anchor TAMIU's team performance.

Strong Depth Across the Lineup

Close behind, Ebba Nordin and Agathe Lacoste both finished tied for 10th overall, each posting a 9-over-par total of 151. Nordin recorded rounds of 75 and 76, while Lacoste rebounded from a first-round 79 with a solid 72 in Round 2, highlighting the Dustdevils' ability to respond under pressure.

Kiara Montebon continued the team's balanced scoring, finishing 21st overall at 13-over-par (155). Montebon improved by seven strokes from Round 1 to Round 2, closing the tournament with a 74 to contribute to TAMIU's second-round push up the standings.

Rounding out the Dustdevils' lineup, Emilynn Tran gained valuable tournament experience and finished 53rd overall with a two-round total of 173, recording scores of 89 and 84.

Tournament Outlook

With four golfers finishing inside the top 21 and a strong team finish against regionally ranked competition, Texas A&M International showcased both depth and upward momentum. The Dustdevils' second-round improvement was a key indicator of the team's potential as they continue their spring schedule.
