LONE STAR CONFERENCE - TAMIU senior Elvis Steen has been awarded LSC Golfer of the week honors after an impressive historic performance by the Dustdevils in the RJGA Palm Valley Classic.
Senior Elvis Steen, from Plano, Texas, had his best performance in his college career going 11 under par in three rounds of play, tied third individually.
Steen collected an eagle and five straight birdies in two days of play. This is the highest placement Steen has received in college and the best performance by a Dustdevil ever in the RJGA Palm Valley Classic.
Elvis is the son of Steve and Julie Steen and is currently pursuing a degree in Psychology.
Elvis now joins Juan Monckeberg , and Margret Nyamukondiwa who both have received LSC Golfer of the Week in the last three weeks.
Speaking with Head Coach Rodolfo Gonzalez about Steen's performance,
"Elvis is truly deserving of this honor. He puts a tremendous amount of work into his game, and to see him achieve this kind of recognition across the conference is special. As a senior this is an incredible accomplishment for him."
Elvis Steen competes in his final conference championship at TAMIU from April 20-22nd in Rockwall, Texas.
