2017:
Gutierrez made four appearances for the Dustdevils in 2017 where she recorded one put out against Tarleton State on March 13.

As a Sophomore Samantha scored (6) runs and stole (2) bases.

2014:
In her Freshman season Gutierrez scored (7) runs for the Dustdevils.

High School: Angleton High School (Class of 2013)
During her time at Angleton Guttierez lettered in volleyball for (3) years and softball for (2) years. On the diamond Samantha was named to the Academic All-District Team in 2012 and 2013. In the gym she was named to the Academic All-District Team in 2011 and 2012.

Personal:
Samantha is the daughter of Monica Hairston and Stephen Gutierrez. She has seven brothers, one sister, and Samantha is expecting a daughter. Her favorite athlete is Chris Paul. Samantha's favorite sports team is the Houston Texans. After TAMIU Samantha wants to be a CPS employee. Her favorite quote is "God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers". Samantha chose TAMIU because she felt welcomed by the people and the campus. In her spare time Gutierrez enjoys spending time with family, watching Netflix, taking naps, and eating.
