1x Heartland Conference Offensive Player of the Week

2017:
Zuniga had a breakout season in 2017 making five starts and 14 appearance scoring six goals for 12 points. He was named the Heartland Conference Offensive Player of the Week after scoring a combined four goals against Rogers State and Newman including a hat trick against the Hillcats. He scored the eventual game-winner for the Dustdevils against Dallas Baptist on Oct. 26. He also scored the equalizer for TAMIU against #3 Midwestern State in the Heartland Conference Semifinals. Registered a career-high seven shots, five of those on-target, against RSU. 

2016:
Zuniga made 10 appearances as a sophomore for the Dustdevils where he played a total of 149 minutes. He record four shots including a season-high one against Adams State, Colorado Christian, Eastern New Mexico and St. Edward’s. He played a season-high 34 minutes in a 4-1 victory over Dallas Baptist on Sept. 17.

2015:
As a Freshman Zuniga appeared in 13 games, starting (4) of them. He played 314 minutes recording (9) Shots on Goal. Rodrigo scored (1) goal in a 3-2 win over St. Mary's.

High School: United High School (Class of 2015)
Zuniga lettered in soccer for (4) years. As a Longhorn, Rodrigo was named to the All-District First Team.
 
Personal: 
Rodrigo is the son of Elsa Alvarez and Miguel Zuniga.  He has two brothers, Miguel and Aaron, Aaron is also a Dustdevil Soccer Athlete. Zuniga chose TAMIU for the opportunities that the school and soccer program offer. His role model is his father. In his spare time Rodrigo enjoys fishing, mixing music, and playing soccer.
