Biography

2018:
Diaz made 15 appearances out of the bullpen for the Dustdevils in 2018 where he went 2-0 with an ERA of 3.00. He allowed 11 runs (nine earned) on 22 hits and seven walks with 12 strikeouts in 27 innings of work. The junior picked up his first win of the season against Houston-Victoria on Feb. 21 allowing one run (zero earned) over three innings. He also earned a win in relief against Lubbock Christian on March 10 after allowing two runs (two earned) in 1/3 innings of work. 

2016:
Diaz made 18 appearances, posting a 1-2 record. Diaz struck out 25 batters in 2016.

2015:
Diaz appeared in (9) games as a Pitcher for the Dustdevils. Diaz pitched 18.1 innings and had an ERA of 2.45.

High School: Jack C. Hays High School (Class of 2014)
Justin was a defensive end, lettering (3) years in football. Diaz played First Base and pitched in high school where he lettered for (2) years. He was awarded second string All-District at First Base as well as second team All-District honors.

Personal:

Justin is the son of Monika and Tito Diaz. Siblings are Megan Rodriguez and Jeff Diaz. Received Academic All District honors. Justin enjoys Fishing, Hunting, and spending time with friends. Diaz chose TAMIU for the opportunity to receive a good education and play a great sport. Justin's role model is his brother Jeff. After TAMIU Diaz wants to be a physical therapist.
